The North American International Auto Show draws engineers, designers, journalists and car enthusiasts from all over the world.

Automakers cue up scenes of showy light, sound and color, treating spectators to dramatic reveals and flashy displays.

These photos were made using a technique called double exposure, where the final image is made by layering two photos, or more, on top of each other, in-camera.

The results offer an unusual look at the show.

The auto show will be open to the public, Jan. 20-28, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday the 28th. Tickets cost $7 for children ages 7 to 12 and $14 for adults.
